PA/VA SOLUTIONS FOR SHOPPING CENTRES AND MALLS

The main purpose of the voice alarm system (VA) is to effectively warn the public of eminent danger thus allowing efficient evacuation. The warning and informative functions can be triggered automatically via the fire alarm system or manually using fireman microphones. The audible alarm system is designed to cover all areas of a building to reach its occupants in the event of an emergency.

More importantly, MULTIVES system can be successfully used to fulfil non-emergency functions i.e. it can provide standard public address system functionality. Thanks to its excellent audio setup, in normal conditions it can be used to address public for specific announcements (using either zone microphones or external sound sources) and/or to provide background music in venues such as shopping centres, sports halls etc.

Shopping centres are known for large fire zones, where several loudspeaker lines can form one sound zone.

MULTIVES offers the ability to bridge ABT-PA amplifier channels and in-built audio BUS within control units ABT-CU. This enables assignment of 1 to 44 loudspeaker lines to one high-power amplifier therefore minimising the number of required amplifiers without impacting on the system functionality.

External audio sources can be connected to any entry point in MULTIVES system to provide music background to client-defined sound zones. The ability to separate common areas e.g. arcades or passageways provides an opportunity to broadcast music, marketing announcements or live information transmitted by external systems or in-built into the system.

When designing independent loudspeaker lines for large renters e.g. big chains, large retailers etc., MULTIVES can be used by such renters as a “local” public address system. A dedicated zone microphone can be used by the shop personnel to broadcast specific messages to their customers while in-built audio inputs can be used to connect to renter’s own audio system. Microphone buttons are fully programmable and can be used as a control panel of the PA system giving the users control over the choice of zones, sound and volume monitoring.
